On Friday, 21 June 2024, a significant incident occurred in South-East Europe. This led to a major disruption in the power system of Continental Europe (CE) that resulted in a blackout in Albania (OST), Bosnia and Herzegovina (NOSBiH), Montenegro (CGES), and Croatia (HOPS).

The Baltic electricity transmission system operators (TSO) Elering, AST (JSC “Augstsprieguma tīkls”) and Litgrid agreed to establish a Baltic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) based in Tallinn and submitted a corresponding proposal to the competition authorities of the three countries.
