Within the Coordinated Security Analysis (CSA) task, Baltic RCC conducts operational security assessments of the regional transmission system networks to identify potential operational risks. The main aim is to ensure network stability after market operations, as well as recommend the most effective and economically efficient remedial actions to the Baltic TSOs.
Key aspects of CSA include identifying security violations, determining suitable remedial actions, coordinating these actions with TSOs, providing operational security assessment results, monitoring the implementation and activation of agreed measures, and logging all data and coordinated actions for reporting and transparency.
The CSA process operates on day-ahead and intraday timeframes, through an iterative series of calculations. Using input from TSOs, RCCs detect system constraints and propose coordinated solutions to prevent overloads and security violations.
See the video below for a basic explanation of the task provided by ENTSO-E.
